Mavericks Advance to the Second Round with 135-110 Game 6 Victory Over Thunder
Dončić, Irving Lead the Way as Dallas Clinches Series
Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving combined for 58 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 135-110 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 of their Western Conference first-round series on Saturday night. Dončić finished with 28 points and 13 assists, while Irving scored 28 of his 30 points in a second-half surge.
The Mavericks took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Thunder 36-19. Irving played a major role in the surge, scoring 15 points in the period. Dončić added 11 points and six assists in the quarter.
The Thunder never recovered from the Mavericks' third-quarter run. They cut the lead to 10 points in the fourth quarter, but Irving scored a jumper and a three-pointer to put the game away.
The Mavericks will now face the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the playoffs. Game 1 of the series is scheduled for Monday night in Phoenix.
