Brooklyn Shooting Suspect Still At Large

Brooklyn Shooting Suspect Still at Large

Police are still searching for the suspect in a deadly shooting that occurred on Monday in Brownsville, Brooklyn, leaving one man deceased. The victim has been identified, but his name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The incident took place outside the Brownsville Houses at around 8 pm. According to witnesses, the suspect approached the victim and opened fire without warning. The victim was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a separate incident, at least 12 people were injured in a fire at a high-rise apartment in Brooklyn. The fire broke out on the 19th floor of the building, which houses low-income families. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The shootings and fire come amid a backdrop of escalating crime across the city. In recent months, there have been several high-profile shootings, including the killing of a subway conductor and the stabbing of an innocent bystander.

The city's mayor, Eric Adams, has vowed to crack down on crime, but so far, his efforts have had little impact. The number of shootings in the city has increased by 20% compared to last year.

The Brownsville shooting suspect remains at large, and police are asking for the public's help in identifying him. Anyone with information is asked to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
